In a heartfelt demonstration of community support and generosity, Community Unitarian Universalist Church has once again proven its commitment to God’s Pantry.
God’s Pantry food drive this year is to support our invisible neighbors, the homeless. A canned ham is a rare treat for this segment of the Pantry’s clientele and our goal is to provide each person with a ham at Thanksgiving and another for Christmas.
As part of their ongoing mission to serve our community, CUUC designated God’s Pantry as the October Share the Plate recipient. As a result, so far we have collected 274 canned hams. The church also raised $1500+ which will be used to purchase other necessities for the food pantry.
In addition to the October Share the Plate commitment to God’s Pantry, God’s Pantry Toy Drive will begin after Thanksgiving. There will be a traditional tree in our sanctuary for the presents. This will be our tenth annual toy drive for the pantry. Many thanks to everyone participating in these efforts.
