Krista Benesch – Community UU Church of Plano’s New Director of Music!
Originally from Kearney, Nebraska, Krista Benesch received her Bachelor’s of Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Krista is currently studying in the Masters-level voice performance program at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Following graduation, she hopes to sing classically. Recent opera roles performed include Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Rebecca Nurse in The Crucible, Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Ma in Tender Land. In addition to her musical interests, Krista enjoys spending time outdoors. She regularly bikes, runs, and plays tennis. In summer of 2021 she worked as a whitewater raft guide on the Yellowstone River. Krista also loves cooking, although she hates following recipes! Krista will be leading and directing CUUC’s Choir through weekly rehearsals and twice-monthly performances during Worship Services.
