Join the Sathya Sai Center – Global Prayers for Peace

Community UU will join the Sathya Sai Center of Dallas for a very special joint service. Every year on the second weekend of November, the Sai Center participates in a global 24-hour devotional of prayers for peace, called Global Akhanda Bhajan. Community UU members will join them this year from 10:30 to 11:30 am. We will participate in Sai Center bhajans (call-and-answer style devotional songs) from 10:30 to 11:00, then lead everyone in singing Unitarian Universalist hymns from 11:00 to 11:30. Everyone is invited to stay afterwards for a delicious vegetarian lunch. in their 24-hour Global Prayers for Peace (Akhanda Bhajans). Please come to the church at 10:30 am, a usual, for an hour of singing and prayers with our friends from the Sai Center.

A few notes about being good guests in their service: Please remove your shoes before entering the building. The Sai Center places racks on the front porch – women’s shoes go on the left, men’s on the right. In the sanctuary, men and women sit separately, women on the left (south), men on the right (east). There will be chairs available, or you can sit on the floor if you’re comfortable.

This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know our Sai Center friends and learn more about their beliefs and traditions. We can also lend our support, prayers and intentions to the goal of world peace and harmony at a time when those are sorely needed. Please join us.

(There are no Order of Worship or Message files for this Sunday.)
