Our children, teens, and adults can (and do!) make a positive difference in our world! We want our members and friends to know that helping others can be simple, enjoyable, and enriching.<\/p>\n<p>We live our principles and get involved as often as we can. Learn about our primary efforts using the links below or the menu at left:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.communityuuchurch.org\/uua\/social-action\/service-projects\/barron-elementary\/\">Barron Elementary<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.communityuuchurch.org\/uua\/social-action\/service-projects\/gods-pantry\/\">God&#8217;s Pantry<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ubaru.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UBarU and Retreat Center<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.communityuuchurch.org\/uua\/social-action\/service-projects\/community-harvest-garden\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Community Harvest Garden<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To get involved in any of our service activities, please contact <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"mailto:uusinaction@communityuuchurch.org\">UUsInaction@communityUUChurch.org<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Holiday Angel Tree (for clients of God&#8217;s Pantry):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An additional annual Social Action project is the Holiday Angel Tree. Each December, we obtain a list of families and children in need from God&#8217;s Pantry, and set up an &#8220;angel tree.&#8221; Members and friends can select a child or family from the tree and purchase suitable gifts, which are then delivered (unwrapped) to the parents via God&#8217;s Pantry volunteers. In this way we help brighten the season for youngsters who may not otherwise receive any presents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Community service and social action are important parts of our Unitarian Universalist faith.
