Throughout Unitarian and Universalist history, our ancestors have experimented with counter-cultural social structures that would serve as models for cultural transformation: Brook Farm and the La Réunion colony here in Dallas are just two examples. This Sunday, we’ll explore the urge to form such communities and some of the difficulties they faced. Collectively we will wonder about lessons that those early experiments provide for our own yearnings for transformation, specifically seeking Beloved Community within our UU congregations and the world.
