Our planet is in peril. If human life is to survive, we must take the ecological crisis seriously. We must ask ourselves, “What kind of world is it in which we wish to live? What kind of people do we wish to be in that world?” We need new solutions and new ways of being in the world. In short, we need to use our imaginations. The word “poetics” comes from a word that means to “make” or “create.” A poetics of environmental responsibility is a forward-looking ethics that understands that business as usual will no longer do. Now is the time to imagine possible worlds and, together, create those worlds. Music will be provided by Krista Benesch and the Community UU Choir.
