Nancy Griffith wrote the lyric, “If we poison our children with hatred, then a hard life is all that they’ll know.” Her words haunt me as I see yard signs that say “Let’s Go Brandon” and wonder how I’d explain this to my kids if they were younger. I believe our UU heritage and tradition give us the potential to help heal hate at its roots—in our homes, our congregations, our faith, and beyond.
