The Buddha tells us that pain is inevitable in our lives; we also know that growth doesn’t occur when we are comfortable. Richard Rohr, like so many other thinkers and theologians, confronts these truths and calls us to lean into the deep learning possible when we are able to see our pain in meaningful ways.
