Turning Towards Joy
Like a flower turns towards the sun, we turn towards joy. In a culture that encourages us to ignore our sorrow and pain, it is best if this turning is gentle not forced, natural not inauthentic.
Reverend Lora Brandis is a community
minister who provides preaching to local congregations and serves as an on-call hospital chaplain. She is the part-time Faith Forward Coordinator for First Unitarian Church of Dallas and a certified spiritual director. Two days a week she and her husband Frank take care of twin grandchildren Rose and James. Lora previously served congregations in Utah, Idaho, California, and Texas. Most recently she was the settled minister for Horizon UU Church in Carrollton, TX from 2016-2021
